Actor Val Kilmer, known for ‘The Doors,’ ‘Tombstone,’ and ‘Top Gun’ dies at 65

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KION) - Val Kilmer, an iconic actor known best for his roles as Jim Morrison in "The Doors," Doc Holliday in "Tombstone," and Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky in "Top Gun," has died. He was 65.
His daughter, Mercedes, told the New York Times that he died Tuesday, April 1, in Los Angeles, due to pneumonia. Kilmer was previously diagnosed with throat cancer back in 2014, but had recovered.
Kilmer made his most recent on-screen appearance in Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.
