New proposed terms being reviewed for fire protection services in San Benito County
HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Hollister City Council will overlook a new proposal for fire protection services for San Benito County.
The Fire Negotiations Ad-Hoc Committee will present proposed terms for the next steps in approval.
This includes a minimum of three firefighters per shift per fire station plus a one-time payment of $1.25 million to help offset fire services costs from the past year.
A termination clause is also on the table with one caveat: if either San Juan Batista or the county back out from service, both lose coverage.
Once approved, the terms will go to San Benito County and San Juan Bautista for approval.
The San Benito Board of Supervisors will review the terms at their meeting on Tuesday, April 7, between a 90-day negotiation window to approve the proposed plans.
