SALINAS, Calif.(KION-TV): Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito County were all impacted by the global IT outage by the cybersecurity company CrowdStrike.

County officials for those three counties said their county department services are up and running, despite the IT outage that occurred on Thursday night.

"Most of the challenges showed up overnight and in the wee hours of the morning, and so our team were notified about it, immediately, because we are actually on 24/7," said Nicholas Pasculli, Communications Director for the County of Monterey, "At this particular point in time, all the county core servers are up and running.”

Pasculli said there's some county employees computers that were not working Friday morning and afternoon because of the IT outage. Pasculli also said some departments that deal with systems from the state, like social services, have been experiencing some interruptions, but he said county workers were working with clients and taking care of their needs.

Monterey County's IT department is working on all the county's servers across all departments.

"Working on individual workstations, we're also monitoring and validating all the servers to make sure that the servers are functioning in the proper sense." said Communications Director for the County of Monterey, Pasculli.

Pasculli said the County's emergency operations and communications was never an issue when the global tech outage started. And over at Santa Cruz County, officials said they're working to fix some of their county computers and laptops.

"Right now we just have a massive, job ahead of us and getting all those employee laptops and workstations back up and running," said Santa Cruz County, Public Information Officer, Jason Hoppin. "We have well over, 2000 employees now."

Hoppin said a number of the county's departments have their own IT staff, and they were working Friday morning and afternoon to get those systems back up and running.

Hoppin also said some departments that have systems with the state were slowly back up and running, like child protective services. And the County of San Benito also encountered issues with their computers and services because of the global IT outage.

All three counties said they did not experience any data loss because of the global IT outage.
