58-year-old Watsonville man identified in solo vehicle crash in Corralitos, CHP says
CORRALITOS, Calif. (KION-TV) - UPDATE at 6:35 p.m. on Feb 18 - According to CHP, a 58-year-old man, identified as Sean Wilkins Sr. and a resident of Watsonville, has died in a crash on Eureka Canyon Road south of Las Colinas Drive.
Officials said at 12:10 p.m. Sunday the man was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon when, for unknown reason, the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a dirt embankment west of Eureka Canyon Road.
The GMC then reportedly crashed into the embankment and traveled in a westerly direction, becoming coming to the rest in a creek.
No other vehicles were involved. Officers said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The road has since reopened.
CHP said the driver sustained major injuries and pronounced dead at the scene, despite lifesaving efforts.
The crash remains under investigation. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are factors in this crash at this time.

The California Highway Patrol said that Eureka Canyon Road at Los Colinas Road is closed after one person has died in a solo vehicle crash.
Officers said the crash took place just after noon on Sunday.
CHP said that the it is unknown when the road will reopen as they are still investigating the crash at this hour.
