Generator theft in KION parking lot caught on camera

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) KION is asking for help catching a thief or thieves caught on camera stealing a $1,200 generator from the station's parking lot.

Two people are seen in surveillance video walking by the back fence before one person climbed over it and into the parking lot Monday.

The thief broke into a storage area, checked to see if vehicles were left open and dragged away the generator. A second person waited on the other side of the fence to help drag it away.

The station is located on Moffett Street near the Salinas Airport.

Anyone with information is asked to call Salinas police.
