Driver arrested for allegedly brandishing handgun, violating Shelter in Place order
SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A driver was arrested in Salinas Wednesday evening for allegedly brandishing a handgun and violating the Shelter in Place order.
At around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call about someone brandishing a handgun in the 1200 block of Davis Road. The victim said the person who did it was driving a red Nissan Altima and driving north on Davis Road.
Officers found the suspect, 35-year-old Alfredo Montes, as he was heading into the Walmart parking lot.
Inside the vehicle, officers said they found a replica handgun, a meth pipe and 12 grams of meth. They also found that Montes, who they said is a gang member, is on felony probation.
Montes was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on brandishing a gun, possession of meth, probation violation and Shelter in Place violation charges.
