Woman arrested for allegedly trying to break into Scotts Valley home

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (KION) A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after she reportedly tried to break into a home in Scotts Valley.

Police responded to the scene when the resident of the home reported that she was there alone and heard someone tried to break in.

When officers got there, they saw signs that someone tried to get in and said the suspect was still at the scene.

Tina Hughes, 53, was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on burglary charges.
