Clear skies, gusty winds for Sunday

A weak weather system will slide through California this weekend.

Low clouds were widespread Saturday morning. Gusty onshore winds developing ahead of the front pushed in cooler air. Highs were mostly in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Winds behind the system will rapidly switch offshore, bringing warmer temperatures to the coast Sunday.

Look for seasonable temperatures through midweek, when another system will bring in cooler air.

*Wind Advisory*
For the Santa Cruz Mountains from 7PM Saturday until 7AM Monday

- Expect North winds of 15-25mph, gusting to 45mph
- Strongest winds expected along the immediate Pacific Coastline and in elevations above 1,000 feet.

For the Diablo Range (Santa Clara County) from 7PM Saturday until 11AM Monday
- Expect north winds of 20-35mph with gusts up to 50mph

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Sunday:
Winds shift offshore behind a weak cold front. Skies will remain clear throughout the day and highs will warm into the 60s to around 70ºF, even down to the beaches. Winds will be gusty over the hills.

Extended:
Temperatures become more seasonable by Monday, though low temperatures will be chilly, especially inland. Some warming can be expected through mid-week.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for February 15th – 21st calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and BELOW normal precipitation.
