MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) Because of windy conditions Sunday, the SPCA for Monterey County said it is seeing a high number of seabirds washing up on shore along the Monterey Bay Monday.

On Monday alone, the SPCA said it rescued eight Northern Fulmars that it said were very weak, hypothermic and emaciated in some cases.

If you see birds like the Northern Fulmar and Common Murre washed up, you are asked to call the SPCA Wildlife Center at 831-264-5427.
