Central Coast city with fewer than 400 residents reports 631 crime cases in 2019
SAND CITY, Calif. (KION) Sand City police released crime statistics for 2019, and it has been busy for a department that has only six patrol officers.
According to police, there have been:
- 631 crime cases
- 422 arrests
- 21 DUI arrests
- 1,355 incident cases
- 1,246 field interviews
- More than one pound of crystal meth seized
- 6.5 ounces of powder cocaine or cocaine base seized
- 3 ounces of Heroin seized
- 5 guns seized
- 553 pills seized
Sand City had a population of 387 in 2017, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Police said the city takes up is .5 square miles.
