WATCH: Utah trooper rescues crashed driver from oncoming train

A Utah Highway Patrol Trooper is being called a hero on social media after dashcam video was released showing him rushing to a crashed car to help the driver as a train approached.

At around 6:50 Wednesday morning, Trooper Ruben Correa ran to the car as a FrontRunner train approached and pulled the driver out of the car.

Luckily, he was able to get out of the way with the driver as the train hit the car at full speed. Nobody was injured.

“An incredible and heroic action by Trooper Ruben Correa. We are so grateful that the Driver and Trooper are safe after this extremely close call. Well done Trooper Correa!!!” said UHP Colonel Michael Rapish.

As a result of the incident, traffic was backed up on a nearby highway for several hours and there were delays in FrontRunner service.
