Man arrested for allegedly distributing meth in Sand City

A man was arrested for allegedly distributing meth after a traffic stop in Sand City.

On Tuesday, police say they stopped Leonardo Evangelista for multiple traffic violations. Police searched his car and found a quarter ounce of crystal meth hidden under the gear stick. They say he also had cash and a cellphone that contained evidence of involvement with illegal drug sales.

Evangelista was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail.
