Saturday: Prescription drug take back day

Local law enforcement agencies are joining a nationwide effort to get rid of unwanted or unused prescription drugs.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27.

The program aims to prevent pill abuse and theft by collecting potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. This service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, multiple Monterey County agencies, including the CHP, Sheriff, and police departments will host Take Back events.
