Santa Cruz felon arrested after K-9 alerts officers during traffic stop
A Santa Cruz felon us back behind bars after a K-9 alerted officers during a traffic stop.
Wednesday night while on patrol, officers spotted 34-year-old Anthony Michael Alvarez in his vehicle in the area of Harvey West Park.
Officials say earlier that evening in roll call, the team reviewed his profile and found out Alvarez was wanted for domestic violence charges, and was selling narcotics.
The patrol team called on Officer Terry and his K-9 partner Luna to walk around the car where Luna alerted on the driver side door.
K-9 Luna located over 25 grams of heroin, 16 grams of methamphetamines, liquid morphine, pill morphine, over 500 dollars in cash, a working scale with narcotics residue, packaging material and 9mm hollow point bullets hidden inside the vehicle.
Anthony Michael Alvarez was booked into the Santa Cruz County jail for being a felon in possession of firearm ammunition, transportation and the sales of narcotics, and Domestic Violence charges.
