Sunday fire in Scotts Valley near quarry

A fire in Scotts Valley burned three acres, Sunday afternoon at Hansen Quarry.

Brush caught fire near Mt. Hermon Road and Conference Drive, starting at 2:27 p.m.

Cal Fire tells KION they had the fire “knocked down,” stopping forward progress, at around 4 p.m. As of 5:12 p.m., they say the fire is out and firefighters are conducting mop up operations.

They report no structures were burned.

There are currently no road closures.

The cause is unknown and under investigation.

Cal Fire used air and ground crews, with the Scotts Valley Fire District.
