Watsonville man arrested for Intent of Sexual Intercourse With a Minor

UPDATE: The man accused of these crimes has issued a statement to KION. Christian Bonilla says, “I want to respond to the story leaked yesterday with false accusations regarding on the post, I am innocent of any accusations that have been posted. All my friends and family know it’s not true. So I would appreciate the same from everyone who reads this nonsense, thank you ,chris bonilla.”

A Watsonville man has been arrested for Intent of Sexual Intercourse With a Minor.

Watsonville Police say earlier this month, the Department received a report from the 15-year-old victim saying 30-year-old Christian Bonilla had sent a text message soliciting sexual favors. Bonilla received the victim’s phone number from a membership application at a local health club.

After the victim reported the solicitation to police, WPD detectives continued to communicate with Bonilla via text message while posing as the “victim.”

Today, Bonilla arranged to meet the “victim” in the parking lot of a convenience store. When he arrived, he was arrested by WPD detectives who were on-scene awaiting his arrival. Bonilla was also found to be driving on a suspended license and his vehicle was impounded.

Bonilla was later booked into the county jail on felony charges of Contacting a Minor with the Intent of Committing a Sex Crime, Attempted Lewd or Lascivious Act with a Minor, and misdemeanor charges of Annoying/Molesting a Minor and Driving on a Suspended License.

It is unknown if there are any other minors who may have been solicited or victimized by Bonilla.
