Rock slides cause three separate closures on Highway 1 in Big Sur

Multiple rock slides have shut down portions of Highway 1 in Big Sur.

One closure is between Nacimiento-Fergusson and Paul’s Slide due to rocks falling onto the roadway Thursday morning. Around 10:55 a.m. Caltrans reported another closure at Anderson Canyon Bridge.

On Wednesday, a rock slide shut down Ragged Point (just past the Ragged Point Inn) to Gorda in San Luis Obispo. Ragged Point Inn can still be accessed from the south.

Caltrans estimates to have all listed closures back open Friday morning after the storm has passed.
