Woodies take over Santa Cruz Wharf

The 23rd annual Woodies on the Wharf kicked off Saturday.

It’s the largest woodie show in northern California, featuring more than 200 wood bodied cars.

Event organizers said people from all over the country come to see the cars and compete in the show.

“We have awards for woodies owners choice, people’s choice and then the person that’s traveled the farthest,” said Dorma Baker, President of Santa Cruz Woodies.

Funds raised from the event will go to local nonprofits.
