Police vs vehicle accident in Gonzales

UPDATE 5/30/2017 5:02 p.m.

About 2:37 pm Gonzales POlice officers were trying to arrest Hector Sandoval who has a $7,000 arrest warrant against him.

Sandoval then led officers on a pursuit..As the officer was traveling behind the suspect, a black car tried to make a left turn into a winery gate and didn’t see the officer pursuing vehicle.

The suspect got away on Highway 101 South in a white Malibu.

Three people in the black car were taken to hospital.The officer is okay, despite air bag deployment.

Chief says they were about a mile into the chase when the accident happened.

Sandoval, who is still on the run, will face felony evading charges.

KION is on scene of a car accident where a Gonzales patrol car and another vehicle were involved in an accident this afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol the collision occurred on the 800 block of South Alta Street.

One person is being extracted from a car. CHP is on scene and investigating.

At this time there is limited information as to who is responsible for the accident.
