Holman Highway 68 Roundabout construction update

Rain has meant work scheduled for tonight, Monday, April 17, has been canceled and moved to tomorrow night instead.

The Pebble Beach Highway 1 Gate entry and exit will be fully open Monday night. Weather permitting, night work and closures will occur on Tuesday, April 18. A text alert and email notification will be sent tomorrow to confirm or cancel night work.

Eastbound Highway 68’s right turn lane into Pebble Beach Highway 1 Gate will be closed.

For those leaving Pebble Beach wanting to access Highway 68 or northbound Highway 1: Use an alternate gate (recommended) or turn right out of the Highway 1 Gate to access southbound Highway 1 and turn around at Carpenter Street or Ocean Avenue. Map: HWY68- Pebble Beach Main Gate No Left Turn

Those trying to get to Highway 1 south from Holman Highway 68: Take the northbound Highway 1 exit and turn around at Munras Avenue. During construction, there may be occasional unexpected delays traveling through the area of Holman Highway 68 and Highway 1. Please allow extra time when traveling through the area. Additionally, there are trucks entering and leaving the work zone. The Transportation Agency for Monterey County also encourage drivers to be work-zone alert and to slow for the cone zone.

Deeply Discounted Bus and Parking Passes

To help reduce congestion during construction of the Holman Highway 68 Roundabout, Monterey-Salinas Transit is selling deeply discounted bus passes to individuals who live or work in the area affected by the construction zone. The bus pass is a great way to avoid traffic while saving on the cost of driving your car.

In conjunction with the bus pass, the city of Monterey is providing deeply discounted parking at the Downtown Garages. When a customer shows their MST bus pass, they can purchase 20 daily entries to the parking garage for $20, which is a 50 percent discount. From the Downtown Garage, people can use their MST bus passes to get around Monterey, New Monterey, and Pacific Grove.
