Watsonville man arrested for a stabbing in Santa Cruz

A Watsonville man accused of stabbing another man in Santa Cruz is now in custody.

According to Santa Cruz Police, 18-year-old Adolfo Pantoja was spotted by Watsonville police officers near his home on Ford Street. He was arrested and turned over to the Santa Cruz Police Department.

Pantoja was wanted for a stabbing that happened on Friday, February 26 th . The victim was found at a 7-11 on Ocean Street, but the 19-year-old victim claimed he was stabbed in the area of Pacific Avenue and Center Street.

The victim was stabbed in his face and torso. He was transported to a Bay Area trauma center where he is still undergoing treatment.

Pantoja now faces two charges, attempted murder and participating in a criminal street gang.
