Two teens arrested for armed robbery at La Selva Beach liquor store

Two teens are behind bars after they pointed a gun directly at a store clerk and demanded money.

The armed robbery happened on Tuesday night at El Patio Liquor Store in La Selva Beach.

The teens walked into the store, and police say 18-year-old Martin Paniagua pointed a gun directly at the clerk while the other teen took money from the register.

Surveillance video caught the crime on camera and deputies arrested the teens at their homes the next day. Multiple firearms, including a sawed off shotgun, were found at their homes.

Paniagua was booked into the Santa Cruz Main Jail and the 17-year-old was booked into the Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall.
