Man tried to lure Greenfield girl into car

Greenfield Police are adding extra patrols around Oak Avenue Elementary after a man tried to lure a girl into his car earlier this week.

According to the child, she was waiting to be picked up near the cafeteria when she spotted the car on Oak Avenue. She said she saw the man get out of the car and that he approached her. The man said her mother sent him to pick her up and then told her to get into the car.

Fortunately, the girl did the right thing and did not get in the car.

The suspect was described as having blonde hair, clean shaven, in his 20s, and about 5’07” with a medium build. The car was described as a red mid-sized vehicle.

Greenfield Police are reminding parents to talk to their children about these types of incidents. Police also plan on speaking to children at schools in addition to the extra patrols.
