POSITION: Digital Operation Center Operator

REPORTS TO: Broadcast Engineer

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: This position will assist with the monitoring and control of the Digital Operation Center broadcast control room in Salinas, California.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Monitoring and controlling on air operations
• Maintaining daily commercial inventory and spot insertion
• Recording and segmenting programming for the automation software
• Processing playlist data and controlling the transfer of new material into the digital server
• Responsibility for the manual and automated control of programming and commercial on-air playback originating from various sources
• Working closely with various departments to provide timely and accurate changes of on air content
• Coordinating events that require insertion of programming from outside sources, such as news interrupts
• Ensuring compliance with applicable FCC and EAS regulations, and station requirements and policies
• Other responsibilities, as assigned by management

SKILLS REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates will be selected from applicants having the best combination of the following qualifications:

• Familiarity with automation software, video servers, video library management systems
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision
• Good problem solving ability
• Previous broadcast technical or production related experience
• Candidate must pass a drug test and background check.

• Commensurate with experience
