Man carjacked, kidnapped Friday in Watsonville; released Saturday

A Watsonville man spent the night in the trunk of his car after two armed men forced him in there Friday night.

Police said the victim was sitting in his car on Union Street at about 9:30 p.m. when two Hispanic men entered the vehicle and at gunpoint ordered the victim to drive out of the area.

After driving for a short time, police said a suspect pulled out a gun and forced the victim in the trunk.

The suspects drove around for several hours.

The victim was let out of the vehicle at about 6 a.m. Saturday on East Lake Avenue near Carlton Road, police said.

The stolen vehicle was later found not far from where the victim was released, police said.
