Power outages in Gonzales, other parts of Monterey, Santa Cruz counties

PG&E officials have confirmed that power is out in parts of Gonzales and Soledad Thursday morning.

The outage is affecting about 1,200 customers in East Gonzales and along Johnson Canyon and Iverson roads, according to a PG&E spokesperson.

Dozens of other outages are being reported throughout the Central Coast. Another 1,200-1,500 outages have been reported by customers using PG&E’s online outage map.

Spokeswoman Monica Tell said it’s unclear at this time whether the outage is rain-related or due to some sort of equipment failure.

Crews are on the scene now working on the problem, and at this time, it’s estimated power will be restored sometime around noon.
