New Jersey man gets federal prison for posting teen’s nude photos online
A New Jersey man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in federal prison for sexual coercion of a teenager over the Internet.
Federal prosecutors said Alex Gonzalez convinced a 15-year-old girl from the Bay Area to take explicit nude photographs of herself and then send them to him using an online photo-sharing application.
When the teen told Gonzalez she no longer wanted to communicate with him, prosecutors say he began to “punish” her by posting the photos online on iMGSRC.ru, a free photo-sharing website hosted in Russia. He included the girl’s name, age, and phone number with the photographs.
He then created a fake Facebook account, “friended” many of the teen’s Facebook friends, and posted the nude photographs of her on his Facebook wall, “tagging” the victim in each of the pictures. Finally, he posted the images on xHamster.com, a free-access pornography website.
FBI agents executed a search warrant at Gonzalez’s home in New Jersey and found a laptop computer containing more than 2,500 images and 130 videos depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
Gonzalez, 22, pleaded guilty in November to distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
