Stolen Bay Area puppies found for sale on Craigslist

When her two German shepherd puppies were stolen, a San Francisco Bay Area woman thought she’d never see them again.

Then she went online and found them for sale on Craigslist.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday that the woman worked with police to set up a sting – tricking the seller into meeting at a location where he was arrested.

Thirty-year-old Richard Coleman of San Leandro is in custody on suspicion of possessing stolen property and attempted extortion. His bail was set at $30,000.

San Leandro police say the puppies were unharmed and have been returned to their home in Livermore.
