Santa Cruz Police Department closes lobby due to rise in COVID-19 cases

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz Police Department has decided to close its lobby to the public due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The lobby is closed until further notice, but police said they will respond to calls and patrol as usual.

To contact the records division for requesting a police report or records inquiries, call 831-420-5870. Reports can also be filed online at santacruzpolice.com.

Police staff will still be at the station, so community members in need of assistance can call or use the intercom outside the lobby.

There are 885 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Santa Cruz County, and 538 are active cases. Four people have died.
