SUHSD waiving some graduation requirements for this year’s seniors

SC SCHOOLS CLOSED

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Salinas Union High School District is waiving some of its graduation requirements for students graduating this spring.

The district passed a resolution waiving the requirements for community service, a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and that students maintain 85% attendance, according to district Public Information Officer Marcos Cabrera.

Due to concerns about COVID-19 and a Shelter in Place order, the district closed all schools. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond later released recommendations that schools stay closed for the rest of the school year, which the district chose to do.

For more details, read the full resolution below.
