MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A Monterey-Salinas Transit RIDES program driver has tested positive for COVID-19.

MST General Manager and CEO Carl Sedoryk said around 14 passengers and three to four co-workers came in contact with the driver who operated vehicles for their RIDES Paratransit program.

The driver is an employee of MV Transportation, a private company that provides services on behalf of MST.

Sedoryk told KION they were able to pinpoint who had come in contact to the driver because passengers who use MST RIDES must call in to schedule their trips so they had a record of that information, including the locations visited and contact information.

MST has shared the information with the county health department. MST said all passengers and employees who may have been potentially exposed have already been notified.

MST said the driver and other employees who came in close contact with that individual are in self isolation.
