Third Monterey County resident dies from COVID-19

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A third Monterey County resident has died from COVID-19, according to Karina Rusk with the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System.

The patient, who was over the age of 65, died Tuesday.

The person was in a special unit at SVMHS for COVID-19 patients.

As of April 6, the last report from the Monterey County Health Department, there were 64 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county.
