MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION) The Monterey Zoological and Vision Quest Ranch has closed as a result of coronavirus concerns and a Shelter in Place ordered for Monterey County, and the zoo is asking for help with funding.

The zoo said that when business slows or stops, its costs remain the same.

Staff members have volunteered to cut back their hours to help, but the zoo said it still needs help with the costs of feeding the animals and utilities. The Monterey Zoo is not funded by a city or county tax.

You can find a link to help the zoo here.
