Two new coronavirus cases reported in Santa Clara County, bringing total to nine

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KION) The Santa Clara County Public Health Department confirmed two new cases of the novel coronaviurs, or COVID-19, Monday.

The cases bring the total number of confirmed cases in the county to nine.

The Public Health Department said one of them is an adult male who was in contact with someone who had it in another county. He is in isolation at home.

The other person is also an adult male who was in contact with someone in Santa Clara County who was previously diagnosed with coronavirus. He is also in isolation at home.

The Public Health Department said an increase in cases is not expected, but it will work to identify anyone who has come in contact with those diagnosed with the virus. It is also doing community surveillance to see the the potential extend of disease spread.
