Bryan Stow talks bullying at Pajaro Valley High
Students at Pajaro Valley High School in Watsonville got an inspiring school assembly on Thursday about survival and bullying from San Cruz native Bryan Stow. Stow, who was brutally attacked in 2011 at a Dodger game, is using his story to help end bullying.
As Stow walks into the gym at PVHS, he almost can’t believe his eyes.
“700 kids all cheering for me… it was amazing,” said Stow.
Stow was at the school to speak to students about the dangers of bullying…something that he knows a thing or two about.
In March of 2011, Stow was attacked by two Dodger’s fans in the parking lot of dodger stadium.
“They tried to kill me that night,” said Stow. “I got hit in the head and went down and that is all I remembered for that year,” added Stow.
Today, Stow is a true comeback kid…working to inspire students to stand up and speak out against bullying.
“When you reach students here they take it elsewhere and that is how it grows,” said Stow.
Stow’s message is simple. He tells kids to speak up, reach out, stand up and lead by example to end bullying.
A message that students say inspires them.
“He totally took that experience, built on it and made his life even better,” said junior Briana Tapia.
As Stow continues his journey of inspiration, he says he wants students to remember a motto that he lives his own life by.
“Go out and be the difference you want to see in the world,” said Stow
