Santa Cruz Boardwalk opens to county residents Saturday
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk closed its rides in March and has not opened since. Santa Cruz moved to the less restrictive Orange Tier in the state's road map to recovery last week. That allowed amusement parks to reopen.
On Monday, the Boardwalk announced it would open rides starting Saturday.
“Saturday, November 7 is one of the most historic days in the 113-year history of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk,” said Boardwalk spokesperson Kris Reyes. “Boardwalk rides have sat silent since March and on Saturday the thrills will return in a fun and safe manner that ensures the health and safety of all Boardwalk guests and employees.”
Tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. on KION, Drew Andre reports on what the restrictions will be for the Boardwalk's reopening.
