Mild Easter Weather

ZACH WEATHER

The persistent area of low pressure that brought us days of clouds and rain is finally moving out of the area, ushering in a warming, drying trend. Temperatures would be much warmer were it not for the fact that we will remain in onshore flow in the coming days. This will keep some clouds on the coast and temperatures seasonable to slightly cool. There are some indications high pressure may win out by mid-week, which would send temps above normal, but another weak system is also poised to drop down the coast later in the week, which would lead to cooler, cloudier conditions and perhaps the next chance of rain.

Overnight: Widespread low clouds for coastal areas and inland valleys. Patchy drizzle possible. Lows in the 40s to low 50s.

(Easter) Sunday: Low clouds will likely be a bit more expansive early in the day with coastal drizzle possible, but skies will break to partly cloudy in the afternoon. Temps will remain a bit cool on the coast with upper 50s to mid 60s for highs and inland areas will cool slightly with mid 60s to low 70s expected. Breezy for inland valleys in the afternoon. There is also a slight chance for a shower over the hills of SE Monterey County.

Monday: Another day of coastal low clouds and slightly cool temps. Highs in the 50s to 60s on the coast with 60s to near 70s inland.

Extended: We’ll see warmer, sunnier conditions both on the coast and inland Tuesday through Thursday. In fact, highs are likely to push above normal for this time of year. A weather system will slide down the coast toward the end of the week, but rain chances remain unclear.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for April 18th-24th calls for the likelihood of ABOVE normal temperatures and BELOW normal precipitation.
