More of the Same

Another beautiful day on the Central Coast! Temps will be warming up for the next couple of days. Mainly quiet and pleasant during the week with more high pressure by mid week and warmer temps. A deeper trough that will develop in the Pacific Northwest will bring a slight chance of precipitation as we head into the weekend and early next week, but still too early to know specifics.

AIR QUALITY: Good

Today: Sunny and pleasant with temps at the coast low 60s to low 70s and from mid 70s to mid 80s inland.

Overnight: Mostly clear with lows in the low to upper 40s and low to mid 50s.

Wednesday: Sunny and warmer. Some areas could see temps 5-10 degrees warmer. Highs mid to upper 60s to 70s at coast and upper 70s to upper 80s inland. A few 90s possible in far south.

Extended: Temperatures head back upward through Thursday as a ridge nudges in from the south. By Wednesday, in fact, highs should be 5-10ºF above normal across the area. A trough will pass by to the north Thursday and Friday and its cold front may make it to the Monterey Bay with some light precipitation chances with coastal drizzle, but it is seeming to be a low probability event at this point.

-The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for October 27^th – November 2^nd calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and ABOVE normal precipitation.

- ENSO Forecast: Transition to La Niña into the fall and persist through the winter months.
- Area drought status: Abnormally dry for areas around Monterey Bay northward. Drought-free elsewhere.
