Quiet & Pleasant
A weak cold front passing through may bring some high clouds and a few more clouds at the coast with a return to the marine layer, and slightly cooler temps to start the week. Mainly quiet and pleasant during the week with more high pressure by mid week and warmer temps. A deeper trough will bring a slight chance of precipitation as we head into the weekend and early next week, but still too early to know specifics.
AIR QUALITY: Good to Moderate
Today: Mostly sunny with a few high clouds passing through. Some low cloud cover possibly returning on the coast. Highs in the low 60s to low 70s on the coast and mid-70s to low 80s inland. Breezy up valley winds late in the day.
Overnight: Clear to party cloudy with lows in the low to upper 40s and low to mid 50s.
Tuesday: AM clouds, then gradual clearing with sunshine coastal and mainly sunny inland. Highs mid to upper 60s to 70s at coast and 70s and 80s inland.
Extended: Temperatures head back upward Tuesday & Wednesday as a ridge nudges in from the south. By Wednesday, in fact, highs should be 5-10ºF above normal across the area. A trough will pass by to the north Thursday and Friday and its cold front may make it to the Monterey Bay with some light precipitation chances with coastal drizzle, but it is seeming to be a low probability event at this point. Longer term trends are showing more warmth next weekend.

-The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for October 27th – November 2nd calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and ABOVE normal precipitation.

- ENSO Forecast: Transition to La Niña into the fall and persist through the winter months.
- Area drought status: Abnormally dry for areas around Monterey Bay northward. Drought-free elsewhere.
