Another Hot One Inland

It will remain hot away from the coast Monday, but cooler temperatures will slowly arrive for all this week, even tomorrow temps will begin to trend downward. After a warm start, a stronger sea breeze will moderate coastal temperatures for the remainder of the day. Further cooling is then expected for all on Tuesday as a weak trough develops over the West Coast. Watching any precipitation chances late week into the weekend with a stronger system. Expect more clouds at the coast.

AIR QUALITY: Good to Moderate

**HEAT ADVISORY**
… for all areas away from the immediate coast through 11PM Monday. All excessive heat warnings have been allowed to expire and have been replaced by the advisory.

*Most individuals will be at risk for heat-related illnesses without effective cooling or adequate hydration, especially with prolonged outdoor exposure. Without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration, heat-related illnesses including heat stroke will be a risk to everyone.

*Cumulative impacts from heat will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in  vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Today: Mostly sunny with a few high clouds moving through and a few low clouds on the coast. Warm with coastal highs in the upper 60s to low 80s and 80s to around 100ºF inland so still dangerous heat inland. Windy up valleys late in the day.

Overnight: Mostly clear with lows in the mid to upper 50s at coast and 60s and 70s inland.

Tuesday: Cooler, with low clouds hanging around the coast at times. Coastal highs in the 60s-70s with 80s-90s inland. Windy up valleys late in the day.

Extended: More seasonable temperatures are expected for the remainder of the week with low clouds on the coast at times. A system will pass by late in the week and may give us a slight chance of rain. We are monitoring.
