Warm Start to the Week
Weekend stayed quiet and quite pleasant for the Central Coast with some clouds and sunshine and comfortable temps. A system in the Pacific Northwest sliding south is bringing cooler temps and rain to northern California but we are staying dry but a bit cool to start the week. Sunday was the beginning of a warming trend as that system exits and a ridge of high pressure builds, which will allow temps to rise quickly in some areas by as much as 10 degrees! We will be dry and warm today before we have a cool down starting mid week.
AIR QUALITY: Good
Monday: Sunny and warmer with coastal highs in upper 60s to 70s and inland 80s to upper 90s.
Extended: Temps will continue to rise for the first half of the work week, peaking on Tuesday. Many spots in the upper 80s and 90s and far inland areas could reach 100 degrees with a moderate heat risk for sensitive people for many communities. The coast will stay comfortable with a marine layer and temps in the 60s and 70s. An upper level trough will arrive by midweek and will bring temps back down a bit again.
