Temps Quickly Rise Sunday

Weekend staying quiet and quite pleasant for the Central Coast with some clouds and sunshine and comfortable temps. A system in the Pacific Northwest sliding south is bringing cooler temps and rain to northern California but we are staying dry but a bit cool. Sunday will already bring a warming trend as that system exits and a ridge of high pressure builds, which will allow temps to rise quickly Sunday in some areas by as much as 10 degrees!

AIR QUALITY: Good

Overnight: Clear to partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid 50s mainly.

Sunday: Mostly sunny skies and very pleasant at the coast and inland. Highs coastal already in the mid to upper 60s and low 70s. Warmer inland upper 70s to upper 80s and few 90s. Breezy
NW winds at bay and along Big Sur coast.

Monday: Sunny and warmer with coastal highs in upper 60s to 70s and inland 80s to upper 90s.

Extended: Temps will continue to rise for the first half of the work week, peaking on Tuesday. Many spots in the upper 80s and 90s and far inland areas could reach 100 degrees with a moderate heat risk for sensitive people for many communities. The coast will stay comfortable with a marine layer and temps in the 60s and 70s. An upper level trough will arrive by midweek and will bring temps back down a bit again.
