On the Cool Down Train
The ridge will recede back eastward allowing for weak troughing to begin to dig down the coast. Inland areas will cool back down and we’ll continue to see cooling on the coast as the marine layer deepens. Coastal areas will be cloudier through mid-week and probably toward the end of the week. However, temps will start to edge back upward toward next weekend.
AIR QUALITY: Good/Moderate
Wednesday: Morning low clouds and fog for the coast and valleys with low clouds lingering on the coast during the afternoon and only partial clearing. Inland areas will completely clear out, however. Coastal areas will continue to cool with highs in the 60s to mid-70s—warmest on the north side of the bay and upper 70s to upper 90s inland. Windy up valleys late in the day.
Extended: Inland areas will see further cooling on Thursday before bouncing back up a bit Friday/Saturday while coastal areas will slowly warm back up into the weekend. Deeper troughing on the West Coast this weekend should mix the marine layer back out which will lead to warmer coastal temps but cooler inland temps Sunday/Monday
