Just a Bit Cool
Slightly cool and at least partly cloudy conditions will continue through the weekend. The area of low pressure that maintained low clouds and promoted occasional drizzle is on its way out. As it moves on Saturday afternoon, we’ll likely see an increase in sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures—a trend that will continue on Sunday. Another weak system will pass by on Monday and it will bring a few more clouds, breezy conditions, and perhaps a few sprinkles. After that, high pressure builds in with sunshine, warmer temperatures, ice cream cones, and puppy dogs.
Overnight: Low clouds on the coast and inland valleys with scattered mid to high level clouds elsewhere. Patchy coastal drizzle. Lows in the 40s to low 50s.
Saturday: Cloudy in the morning, becoming partly cloudy and seasonably cool in the afternoon.. Highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s on the coast and mainly 60s inland. Breezy at times for inland valleys and on the exposed coast.
Sunday: Partly cloudy and slightly warmer. Coastal highs in the 60s with 60s to low 70s inland. Breezy for the inland valleys in the afternoon.
Extended: We’ll see an increase in clouds on Monday as a weather system passes by. It may through a bit of wind and a few sprinkles our way, otherwise, just expect a pause, but not a roll-back of the warming trend. The trend will resume with earnest on Tuesday as high pressure builds in, leading to mostly sunny skies and highs in the 60s-70s through the end of the week. A few inland valleys may even reach into the 80s.
The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for April 25th – May 1st calls for the likelihood of ABOVE normal temperatures and BELOW normal precipitation.
