SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – Sunny and warmer! High pressure dominates the California Coast. However, there will be some hazardous beach conditions at the local coast beginning early Sunday with sneaker waves and rip currents. Temps rise Sunday in many areas especially inland, highs will be in the upper 70s to 80 degrees with a minor heat risk for very sensitive people. More clouds and a very slight chance for light rain/drizzle overnight Sunday into Monday, then more sunny weather for next week with temps soaring!

Air Quality: Good

**Beach Hazards** ...for Sunday morning thru Monday evening for Northern and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur coast.

*Increased risk for sneaker waves and rip currents with a moderate period northwesterly swell.

*Beach goers urged to stay out of the water and use caution being close to the water.

Overnight: Mainly clear skies inland to partly cloudy at the coast and temps a bit warmer with lows in the 40s mainly.

Sunday: Sunny and mild with highs in the mid to upper 60s to 70s coastal and near 80 degrees in some interior locations, especially in the far southern valleys. Minor heat risk for very sensitive people. Increasing clouds late with fog.

Monday: Morning fog/drizzle. Partly sunny coastal with temps in the low to mid 60s with mostly sunny skies inland with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

Extended: A weak cold front will pass through early on Monday and could bring a few sprinkles. In its wake, we’ll cool slightly but remain seasonable. High pressure builds back in through mid-week and will help to bring temps back up to well above average with peak heat days Wednesday and Thursday.
