Winds will increase fire danger
Temperatures will be noticeably cooler starting today, as a mostly dry weather system slides through California. Most areas will see daytime highs in the 60s. After the system passes, gusty winds will develop Tuesday night into Thursday.
Tuesday: Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, with much cooler temperatures. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s on the coast, and 60s and 70s inland. Slight chance for a light rain/drizzle this evening.
Overnight: Partly cloudy. Expect lows in the 40s on the coast and 30s to 40s inland. Gusty in the hills.
**RED FLAG WARNING**
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning, in effect from Wednesday morning at 4 a.m. until 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
-North Bay Mountains above 1,000 feet, East Bay Hills above 1,000 ft, and the Diablo Range in fire weather zones 507 and 511.
-North to northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 35 to 45mph. Local gusts at isolated peaks and ridge tops may approach and possibly exceed 60 mph.
-Wednesday afternoon relative humidity values dropping to 10 to 20 percent with localized single digits. Poor recoveries are forecast on Wednesday night with relative humidity values in the 30 to 45 percent range with localized values below 25 percent.
Extended: Temperatures will stay cool through the workweek, with a slight warm-up by next weekend.
The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for November 21st - 29th calls for the likelihood of ABOVE normal temperatures and BELOW normal precipitation.
