Four victims in stable condition after Hollister Big rig vs. six-vehicle crash
HOLLISTER, Calif, (KION-TV) UPDATE August 26, 2022, at 6:41 p.m.- CHP Hollister confirmed the four patients taken to the hospital after a big-rig crash near Hollister Thursday are in stable condition.
Two minors and two adults were taken to the hospital with major and moderate injuries, according to CHP. They added the cause of the crash was the big-rig failing to push its brakes on time.
Nobody has been arrested, and CHP says alcohol and drugs don't appear to be factors at this time.
Big rig vs. six-vehicle crash in Hollister results in three life-flighted
CHP Hollister-Gilroy confirmed to KION that there was a seven-vehicle crash involving a big rig at the intersection of Highway 25 and Shore Road at 5:01 p.m. on Thursday night.
Investigators said, for an unknown reason, the big rig hit the six cars in front of it and pushed them off the road. CHP is still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
Four were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to major. Three of the patients were life-flighted and one was taken to the hospital by ground, according to CHP.
American Medical Response is currently at the scene, and Caltrans has closed the road. There is no timetable for when that section of road will reopen.
