Chevron Shoot-Out players start Pro-Am with $100k in donations for charities
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (KION) Five two-person teams participated in the annual Chevron Shoot-Out at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Tuesday to raise a total of $100,000 for the charities of their choice.
In the event, Pro-Am champions compete with athletes from other professional sports, and each hole is worth $20,000, split between partners.
The teams and their charities consisted of:
- Ted Potter Jr.for the First Tee of Greater Ocala and Matt Ryan for the Monterey Peninsula Foundation
- Vaughn Taylor for Safe Homes of Augusta and Larry Fitzgerald for the Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund
- Brandt Snedeker for the Snedeker Foundation and Aaron Rodgers for the North Valley Community
- Jimmy Walker for the Geneva School of Boerne and Steve Green, the President of Chevron North America for the First Tee National
- D.A. Points for Arnie's Army and Kelly Slater for Wounded Warriors
In total, each of the teams raised:
- Potter-Ryan $10,000
- Taylor-Fitzgerald $30,000
- Snedeker-Rodgers $10,000
- Walker-Green $10,000
- Points-Slater $40,000
Taylor-Fitzgerald won the first hole for $20,000. The four holes following that were halved and no skins were won. All of the teams were awarded $10,000 to their charities and all players participated in a closest-to-the-pin put off for the remaining $30,000. Ponts-Slater won the put off and the final $30,000, making them the champions.
