Division races heat up as high school football returns for Week 8

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - Only one local team retains its undefeated status as league play continues to heat up along the Central Coast. After North Salinas handed Pacific Grove its first loss of the season, Carmel is now the last squad to stay perfect through eight weeks of action.

In the Gabilan, Salinas is currently in first place, at 3-0 in league play. Carmel leads the Mission South with a similar record of 3-0. Seaside and Gonzales are both 4-0 in league play, standing at first in the Mission North and Santa Lucia respectively.
