After a successful career building worldwide technology companies my wife Margaret and I chose Carmel-by-the-Sea as our forever and only home. We treasure the natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant community spirit here and are passionate about preserving and enhancing it for future generations. Like you, I care deeply about this place and am very focused and committed to enhancing our quality of life and fostering unity, engagement, and progress while preserving what makes our town unique.
- I pledge to: Ensure Transparent and Honest Government: I will lead with openness and integrity, making sure all decisions and policies are clear and accountable. City Hall will be a place for meaningful dialogue, where every voice is encouraged to speak and will be clearly heard, respected, and involved in the discussion.
Promote Community Engagement and Partnerships: Our extended community thrives on its spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy. I have witnessed first-hand what that looks like and will encourage strong partnerships with residents, visitors, and local groups to enhance civic involvement and enlist their time and philanthropic support for City initiatives. It won't be unique to be a volunteer in Carmel but the normal way of life in our community. Act Decisively and Effectively: I am committed to tackling our challenges, leveraging our strengths, and working proactively with the City Council, Commissions, City Leadership and Staff to properly set priorities and get things done quickly and efficiently. From improving public safety, preserving and providing access to our public spaces and natural resources, developing affordable housing that fits into our community, boosting local businesses, and ensuring our financial health, I will bring full-time energy and dedication to every issue and do as much as a mayor can do to achieve positive and visible results. - This campaign is about our shared future in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
